Well, a toy top is a really fun and simple toy. It's like a little spinning disc that you can play with. When you spin a top, it starts to spin around really fast because of something called "centrifugal force" (that's a big word!).
Inside the top, there's a pointy tip called a "pivot" or "point". When you push the top down and give it a little twist, the pivot helps it stay balanced and spin in one place. The spinning motion creates this cool force that keeps the top standing up and spinning for a while.
But here's where it gets even more interesting! As the top spins faster and faster, it starts to wobble and wobble until... Oops! It falls over. That's okay though because then you can pick it up and spin it again!
