Lions are big, strong, and very furry animals that live in Africa. They are known as the "king of the jungle" because they are at the top of the food chain and don't have many predators. Lions have a special kind of hair around their neck called a mane, which makes them look extra fancy. The male lions have bigger manes than the females, kind of like how some people have different hairstyles. Lions like to live together in groups called prides. In a pride, there is usually one male lion, several female lions, and their babies called cubs. The male lion's job is to protect the pride and make sure everyone is safe. The female lions are really good hunters and they go out to find food for everyone. Lions have a really loud roar that can be heard from far away! It's like they're saying, "Hey everyone, I'm here!" They use their roar to communicate with other lions and to show that they are strong and in charge. Lions are amazing animals and it's always exciting to learn more about them! (source)
