Well, a pandemic is like a really big, super-duper spread of a sickness. Remember when you got a cold and everyone in your class got sick too? That's kind of like a mini-pandemic. Now imagine that happening all over the world! Lots and lots of people getting sick from the same bad germ or virus. That's what a pandemic is.

But don't worry, even though it sounds scary, there are lots of smart doctors and scientists working really hard to figure it out and keep us safe. They make special rules to help stop the sickness from spreading too much and they help people who are feeling sick get better. So, just remember to wash your hands, wear your mask, and listen to grown-ups to stay safe during a pandemic!
