Programming is like giving instructions to a computer. You know how when you play with your toys, you can tell them what to do? Well, programming is like that, but with a computer! Instead of using words, we use a special language that the computer can understand.
So, let's say you want the computer to draw a picture of a cat. You would write a program that tells the computer step by step how to draw the cat. You might say "first draw a circle for the head, then add two triangles for the ears, and so on." Once you've written the program, you can ask the computer to run it, and it will follow your instructions to draw the cat.
Just like learning to ride a bike or play a new game, programming takes practice. The more you learn, the more things you can make the computer do. And who knows, maybe one day you'll be a super awesome programmer!
