What is RAM? ROM?
Asked on: Sep 13, 2023 01:59 PMWell, kiddo! RAM stands for Random Access Memory, and you can think of it as your computer's short-term memory. It temporarily stores (remembers) everything that runs on your computer, like your video games, internet browser, and even this cute dinosaur drawing app we're using right now! When you turn off the computer, poof! All the data in RAM disappears like a magician's rabbit!
Now ROM is a bit different. ROM stands for Read-Only Memory. Imagine it as a very strict librarian who only lets you read the books (data) but never allows you to change them or take them away. This is where your computer keeps important information that it needs to start up and function properly - even when it's turned off and on again.
So in short, RAM is like a playful puppy who forgets things once he sleeps (turns off), while ROM is more like an elephant who never forgets!
Remember though, both are super important for our computers to work properly - just like how cookies and milk are both important for a perfect snack time!
