Who developed the computer?
Asked on: Sep 13, 2023 01:49 PMThe computer, as we know it today, wasn't invented by just one person. It's a result of many brilliant minds working together over many years. But if we're talking about who made the first mechanical computer, then that would be Charles Babbage. He was an English mathematician and inventor, and in the 1800s he designed a machine he called the Analytical Engine. It was meant to solve complex calculations and is considered the first general-purpose computer design.
Fast forward to the 20th century, two gentlemen named John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert developed what is considered the first successful electronic computer called ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer). This big guy could do 5,000 calculations per second! That's faster than a rabbit hopping on a hot griddle!
But don't forget about Alan Turing! He was an English mathematician who is often called the father of modern computing. During World War II, Turing developed a machine that helped break codes used by Germany - it's like he was playing hide and seek with secret messages!
So you see, developing computers was like building a giant puzzle with each person adding their piece to make it complete. And now we can play games, learn new things and even talk to people all around the world thanks to their hard work!
