Why am I hungry?

So, you're feeling a bit peckish, huh? That's your body's way of telling you it needs more fuel to keep running smoothly. Just like a car needs gas to go vroom-vroom, your body needs food to do all the amazing things it does every day, like blinking, breathing, and doing the Macarena. Your stomach sends signals to your brain that it's time for a top-up when it starts getting empty.
Now, sometimes you might feel hungry even if you've just eaten. This could be because your meal didn't have enough protein or fibre, both of which help you feel full. Or maybe you're just bored - our brains are funny things and sometimes they confuse boredom with hunger! Other times, dehydration might be the culprit. Our bodies often mistake thirst for hunger, so next time you're feeling hungry soon after eating, try drinking a glass of water first.
But remember: just like Goldilocks and her porridge, it's important not to eat too little or too much - but just the right amount! So listen to your body and feed it when it tells you it's hungry (but maybe skip the second slice of cake).
