Why is my hair this color?Asked on: Sep 13, 2023 06:47 PM
Well, little buddy, the color of your hair is a bit like a secret recipe. The main ingredients are two things called pigments: eumelanin (which is brown or black) and pheomelanin (which is red or yellow). Everyone has some amount of both pigments in their hair. If you have a lot of eumelanin and not much pheomelanin, your hair might be very dark. If it's the other way around, you might have red or blonde hair.
The exact amount and mix of these pigments are determined by your genes - those tiny little instructions that you got from your mom and dad when you were just a twinkle in their eyes. So if you're wondering why your hair is the color it is, you can thank (or blame) them!
And remember, no matter what color your hair is, it's perfect just the way it is because it's part of what makes you YOU! And that's the most beautiful color there can be.Reference: Why do we have different colours of hair?
